Clark Gable’s overcoat
The raincoat standardized for officers in december 1942. Made of cotton poplin, it has a removable wool lining. This particular raincoat belonged to american actor Clark Gable (Gone With the Wind) who joined the US Air Force in august 1942. After being titularized as captain, he joined the 8th Air Force in England, and participated in 5 bombing missions including one over Germany, aboard a B-17.
