On September 2, 2025, the world commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. To mark the occasion, on August 26, the National Geographic television channel and magazine published a survey it had conducted among military historians. Their task was to compile a list of the 10 best World War II museums in the world. The Airborne Museum is proud and delighted to be the only French museum on this list, alongside institutions such as the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, the Imperial War Museum in London, and the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Więźniów Oświęcimia.
For this recognition, which is an achievement in itself and rewards 61 years of work, development, and preservation of memory, the Airborne Museum would like to thank the millions of visitors who have walked its floors and the millions who will do so in the future.
