Major-General Ridgway’s jump boots

These toe-capped brown leather boots with rubber heel and sole were instituted for the american paratroopers on august 2, 1942. Their raising spindle have 11 to 13 pairs of eyelets. The boots are manufactured by a dozen of factories, the most important being the Corcoran Company of Stoughton. This pair was worn during World War II by General Matthew B. Ridgway, chief commander of the 82nd Airborne, and then of the XVIIIth Airborne Corps.
